Do You Know What a Book Is?
Every book is a product in the catalogue of living. Who is writing yours?
Do you know what a book is?
Every book is a product in the catalogue of living. It is written so that you may look, choose the one that suits you, and apply it to your own product.
Each of us is a story. For better or worse we are living a life. It is as if we are acting out the scenes of a book.
Ediz wakes in the morning. After washing his face he takes his coffee from the kitchen and watches from the living room window the people walking in the street.
So who is writing this story?
God?
I doubt it.
He reads the book more like a critic, even if he can guess the ending. He may offer warnings and corrections along the way, but his real review seems to come after the reading.
Then who is writing this book?
You are expecting me to say you, are you not?
Is that so?
Are you really the one writing it?
That is the question, friends.
Who is writing your story in the catalogue of living that others will look through tomorrow, that is, your own book?
Life is the single chance you were given.
I am not telling you to use this chance in the best way. Listen to me carefully. You may not have the means or the options to use it best, but at the very least use it yourself and leave it to no one else.
Since this is your life, live it yourself without fear, with its good and its bad.
And what about our children, you ask.
Oh dear.
Teach the child to live for himself too. Let him always do something for himself so that he never becomes an extra in someone else's story. That is the most precious knowledge you can give him.
Do not fear making mistakes or looking foolish. Do not ask how you will appear or what people will say.
Believe me.
First they will mock you. If you do not give up, if you keep going, they will confront you and tell you that you are wrong. They will try to pull you down, and if they cannot, in the end they will say that you were always going to manage it.
It is not hard.
First rule: start writing your own story yourself.
Be well.
