On the truth of time

Patience

Patience. Sometimes the greatest virtue, sometimes the greatest mistake.

Patience.

Sometimes the greatest virtue, sometimes the greatest mistake.

To speak of patience I think we must first look at the truth of time. Is time really the cure for everything? Or is it also, at times, the killer of some things?

If passions resemble flowers that wither when they are not watered at the right moment, does leaving dreams to time not also carry the risk of killing them?

So what is the truth of time? What should a person leave to time, and when?

Let me tell you.

When there is nothing to be done, the finest thing to do is nothing. True.

But if you leave today's dream to tomorrow, tomorrow you will wake to the noise of those who made it real. Do not forget that either.

They say time cures everything because it makes us forget everything. Yet forgetting everything is not always a cure. Understanding time and using it well is what truly cures.

Do everything you must do without delay; and when there is nothing to do, simply sit and wait.

So let us sit and think now. What will we leave to time, and for what will we act?

Do not rush, do not panic, know how to wait and know how not to postpone. That is what I would say.
